Telangana march in Hyderabad, several TRS leaders arrested

Several leaders of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) were arrested by the police on Friday as they were trying to march to the Andhra Pradesh assembly to press the demand for a separate Telangana state.
Members of Parliament G Vivek and Manda Jagannatham, former MPs Vinod and Jitender Reddy were among the leaders arrested near the assembly for defying prohibitory orders. The leaders took police by surprise and appeared at Nizam Club opposite the assembly building.
"We strongly condemn the police repression. Our democratic right to express dissent is being suppressed," said Vivek, who along with Jagannatham recently quit Congress to join the TRS.
TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao's daughter Kavitha, who heads TRS' cultural wing Telanganar Jagruthi, and her supporters, were arrested when they reached Indira Park, three kilometres from the assembly building.

100% rise in jobs for mobile app developers

100% rise in jobs for mobile app developers
The study found tremendous demand for HTML 5 development skills, which witnessed a 149 per cent increase in job postings in 2013.
NEW DELHI: To bridge the significant gap in demand and availability of skilled mobile app developers, several large organisations are tapping global talent hotspots like India, China, Israel and Europe, says a study.

Job postings for mobile developers has doubled in the last two years, but supply is growing only at 13 per cent, the study by Talent Neuron, a web-based talent planning and management platform from Zinnov LLC, said.

To address the gaps, companies are following a three- pronged approach -- acquisitions, leveraging global talent hotspots by expanding their R&D footprint and vendor partnerships -- to take advantage of available talent, the study said.

"Several large organisations are leveraging global talent 'hotspots' such as India, China, Israel and Europe," it said.

Infosys hires headhunters for CEO search

Infosys has approached three global executive search firms - Heidrick & Struggles, Egon Zehnder and Russell Reynolds - to submit a capability document detailing their CXO searches in the past.

BANGALORE: Infosys has approached three global executive search firms - Heidrick & Struggles, Egon Zehnder and Russell Reynolds - to submit a capability document detailing their CXO searches in the past. The plan appears to be to mandate one of them to search for a CEO to replace incumbent S D Shibulal when his tenure comes to an end in 2015.

The $7.5-billion IT company's engagement with executive search firms indicates the company's openness to consider external CEO candidates for the top job besides benchmarking its own candidates to get greater visibility into the company's leadership talent pool.
